Abstract

  1. Mitsuba Indonesia is a manufacturing company specializing in spare parts, particularly flywhell components. Over the course of a year, the production process has encountered various defects, including dented covers, misaligned covers, and rusty yokes. These defects have significantly impacted product quality and customer satisfaction. To address these issues, this study employs the Six Sigma methodology, aiming for a target of 3.4 defects per million opportunities (DPMO), striving towards zero defects. The research was conducted on the production line at PT. Mitsuba Indonesia, focusing on quality control of flywhell products. Key Findings : Defect Types Identified : Dented cover Misaligned cover Rusty Yoke Six Sigma Analysis : The calculated DPMO is 64,334.9, corresponding to a Sigma level of 3.1. Root Causes of Defects : Dented cover: Human error, machinery issues, and methods. Misaligned cover: Human error, machinery issues, material problems, and methods. Rusty Yoke: Human error, environmental factors, and methods.
